A Word from the Guise: Are Judd Apatow movies still a thing? Their raunchy, cavalier humour and naturalistic apathy are a hipster’s dream. Trainwreck is of the same ilk. But with a few glasses of wine, I really started enjoying this film. Amy Schumer is excellent. She nails not only the comedic scenes but also the dramatic scenes. Tilda Swinton only has a small part, but she is a riot. I don’t necessarily think that it will actually get nominated for anything at the Oscars, because the Academy has proven pretty resistant to such films. However, Bridesmaids managed to secure two Oscar nods, so anything is possible.
