91st Academy Awards Predictions

The 91st Oscar nominations will be announced in the wee-hours of Tuesday, January 22. Here are our predictions for what the morning will have in store for us! Please note, while many of these predictions appear in my own favourites for the year, these are not a reflection of my favourites, but rather what I am expecting the Academy voters to nominate.

The categories with asterisks (*) are ones which the Academy gives public shortlists for; therefore my picks for those categories are chosen from those shortlists. So if you’re wondering, for example, why Annihilation isn’t listed for Visual Effects, it’s because it’s somehow not on the Oscars shortlist.

I honestly think the Academy will only go with 8 Best Picture nominations this year, but I included 10, just in case. Should they only go with 8, though, the caret (^) indicates which ones I think will be cut.
